Keep an eye on standards

If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviours and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.”
― Anthony Robbins

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Read and see what others have done.

Standards

.

Is it necessary for you to reinvent the wheel again or to solve a problem which has been solved in a better way already? It is why I believe we should have an eye on standards and understand how standards are developt.

I think standards and patterns are very interesting area in solution architect because we need to understand the problems first and then see if it exists on any solutions which already has patterns.

You are trying to solve a problem in a better and standardized the way?

You don’t need to find your own path, sometime you should know when it is necessary to have a big community have developt standards that covering your solution you can rely on others competence for they have all same problems.

When we are trying to solve problems so my strongest considering is to finding a right way to use to standards and patterns in a good manner.

You should have standard philosophy on how to build on standard so the solution is build on a standard and not in a standard.
If you need in your solutions, you could change standards without changing the whole solution? Is it possible?

Process for the creations of standards

What is standards ?

Specifications or styles that are widely accepted by users and adopted by several vendors. Standards are critical to the compatibility of hardware, software, and everything in between.

Industry standards enable the essential elements of a computer and related infrastructure to work together. Standards provide specifications to hardware manufacturers and software developers that allow them to create products that will work together. Deviation from standards could result in the following problems:

  • An integration between systems does not work.
  • A plug on a keyboard does not fit into the related outlet on a computer.
  • An Internet browser cannot read a certain page on the Web because the page is not formatted according the browser requirements.
  • A proprietary software does not work on different plattforms.

We need understand how much effective we can be when we are using standards in our solution and also building your architecture in a way can always reflecting both the theory and the practice solution the reality sometimes.

How are standards implemented?

Good architecture is a critical factor in the success of the system development.
